With the continuous development of digital heat transfer technology, one of its main consumables-sublimation transfer printing paper has become a hot spot in the textile printing and papermaking industry in recent years. At present, the sublimation transfer paper in South Korea and the Netherlands still occupy the main market. Now, the domestic sublimation transfer paper is becoming more and more mature, and gradually sold overseas. Here we mainly discuss the performance requirements of sublimation transfer printing paper.
The performance requirements of sublimation transfer printing paper are currently not uniform in China and have no standardized unified special testing instruments. However, some large foreign manufacturers, such as South Korea Hansol Company, American AW Company, etc., and some domestic terminal users have their own sets to strictly control the quality of products. Based on the analysis of imported products and use requirements of domestic users, it is believed that the quality requirements of sublimation transfer printing paper can be judged from the following aspects.
Print quality
Print quality refers to the overall effect of printing images on paper. It requires that the printed image has good and uniform ink absorption, , no obvious ink stacking and image bleeding after printing. If the image printing quality is poor, the defects on the image of transfer prodcts will be obvious. The image color uniformity is generally poor. In addition, if the paper cannot quickly absorb ink, the phenomenon of ink piling is serious. And the printed image is easily scratched or damaged in the continuous production process, which affects the transfer yield and continuous production speed.
Transfer quality
It means that the image is printed on the sublimation transfer paper. Under certain transfer conditions, the image should completely transferred on the substrate. High color density value, clear boundaries between different colors, no ghosting phenomenon, and the residue ink should be as little as possible. The method used is to print the image on the same inkjet printer and the same printing mode. Specifically, observe the overall effect of the transfer product (including color uniformity, clear boundaries between colors, etc.) and use a reflection densitometer to measure the CMYK color optical density value of the transferred product image after the transfer and the residual image light. The overall effect of the transfer image is good, the average value of the sum of the optical density values of various colors is high. The average density value of the residual color on the paper is low, The smaller the residue ink is, the paper quality is better.
Paper shape stability
Paper shape stability mainly refers to the deformation of the finished paper in an ordinary indoor environment and a high temperature environment (180-230°C). If the sublimation transfer paper deforms greatly in the ordinary indoor environment, the paper cannot fully and closely contact the substrate (such as cloth, etc.) during the continuous transfer production process, which will affect the transfer quality and may cause Image ghosting phenomenon. The paper has poor stability in high temperature environment (180-230℃), is easy to age, and its strength becomes poor. It is easy to break the paper during the transfer process, which affects production. The specific evaluation method is based on the degree of curling of the paper in a certain period of time under the ordinary indoor environment and the tensile strength of the paper under different high-temperature environments (180-250℃).
