Part 3  Digital printing equipment situation
 

From 2014 to 2019, the global digital printing equipment ownership is growing steadily. Among them, digital transfer printing equipment accounts for more than 80%, and digital direct-injection equipment accounts for less than 20%. The vast majority of digital transfer printing equipment is a low-speed machine with a price of 30-80,000 yuan and a printing speed of 30 meters per hour or less, with a general service life of 2-3 years.

With the continuous progress of digital printing technology and quality, differentiated consumer demand continues to release, digital printing equipment into the peak of the renewal period.

The market is constantly segmented, the proportion of high-end models increasing is the main feature of this stage, fast speed, high precision, high stability, and the proportion of digital printing equipment combined with circular or flat-screen printing solutions continue to rise. 2019 global digital printing equipment phase-out amounted to 18,700 units, is expected in 2020 the global digital printing equipment phase-out amounted to 11,000-13,000 units. Among the eliminated equipment, the low-speed digital transfer printing equipment used for about 5 years accounts for more than 80% of the elimination volume.

Printing ink as a digital printing necessary consumables, in color fastness, color rate, and nozzle adaptability are very high requirements. From the raw materials, digital printing ink and traditional printing dyes do not differ, but due to the different forms of ink and coloring, digital printing ink than traditional printing dyes have higher requirements, especially in the particle size, suspension stability, crystallization control, and other aspects of higher requirements to adapt to the high precision digital printhead efficient working conditions and service life requirements.

In recent years, the price of digital printing ink has dropped significantly, and since 2011 the overall price of digital printing ink has dropped by 90%. The significant decline in ink prices has to a certain extent promoted the promotion and application of digital printing technology.
